My brother Erik recently went freelance. He called me up and said he got in a pitch to shoot Randolph Macon's TV spot. We figured we'd go in swinging, we wrote and boarded up 3 concepts. Even did a rippomatic for one. We got the gig. They picked the most ambitious one. We staffed up with friends, including our other brother Kirk to run the drone shots and AC on the 2nd Unit. After 4 10 hour days in Ashland Virginia, we got it all. We even did the voiceover session right on campus in the music department before wrap.
We made a :30 for regional TV, an extended longform video for online and a ton of cutdowns highlighting specific majors and extracurriculars so they could microtarget on YouTube. And it worked. Randolph Macon's 2025-26 incoming freshman class was the largest incoming class in the school's history, and the school welcomed a record 603 new students to campus (536 first-year students and 67 transfers). That pushed RMC's total enrollment over 1,800 for the first time ever.
