I wasn't ever very good at math. I have an art degree. But when you've got to make a spot about 4 multiplying scratchers, you've gotta crunch some numbers.
This was a fun one to make, in addition to the usual reasons. We got to shoot in a library that's on the National Register of Historic Places. The talented Mary Dauterman, fresh off of her debut feature BOOGER, directed. It was my first shoot (in over 10 years of shoots) where we had a woman director and a woman DP. In fact, women made up just about half of the entire (large) crew. And my mathematician friend Taylor helped us out with the equations on the blackboards.
